Dear Prospective Reader,

If you have read Grey Pine and didn't find it too gritty, then my next novel,
María Juana’s Gift, should also work for you. Assuming you have already read the
brief synopsis of Gift, you know the novel would have you involved with the disturbing subject of a baby’s illness and her parents’ desperate fight for support from those who are sworn to help her. Though that theme approaches the very core of inhumanity, the novel celebrates the compassion of a nurse's helper, María Juana, whose "gift" will stay with the young parents for their entire lives.

It is my hope that you will find María Juana’s Gift to be both unnerving and inspiring.
